1965:               Attended Independent Theatre School of Dramatic Art, Sydney, where

he was awarded the Best Actor of the Year.

 

1970:               Studied acting technique under Brian Syron.

 

1969-72           While at University, George participated in experimental theatre work

and play reading with Alex Buzo, as well as performing in a

programme devised by Clem Gorman, Birth of Space.  He played the

role of Pere Ubu in Alfred Jarry’s Ubu Roi.  He also participated in

street theatre and satirical programmes, as well as a number of films

with director Phil Noyce.

During this period George also participated in a film workshop with

1977                Returned to Sydney to perform in the first professional production

of Robert Merritt’s The Cake Man, directed by George Ogilvie.
