Anna Gardiner is a Set and Costume Designer who has worked extensively in theatre and musical theatre. She recently was awarded the 2014 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Stage Design of a Mainstream Production for her design of Henry V for Bell Shakespeare Company. Her work on Henry V was also nominated for a 2014 Greenroom Award for Set and Costume Design.
Anna is a 2008 WAAPA Design graduate and has designed for numerous productions across Sydney including; Costume design for Sport for Jove Theatre Company: Cyrano De Bergerac (Nominated for 2013 Sydney Theatre Award for Costume Design for an Independent Production); Hamlet, Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew (Nominated for 2012 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Stage Design for an Independent Production) Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It. She has also Set and Costume Designed The Tempest, Twelfth Night and The Crucible for Sport for Jove Theatre Company. For the Ensemble Theatre, Anna has designed; A Year with Frog and Toad, Camp, Dark Voyager, Absent Friends as well as Educating Rita, The Shoehorn Sonata in 2015. Anna’s Costume design credits also include Into the Woods starring the cast of Wicked the Musical (The Capitol Theatre, Rob Guest Endowment) and The Ham Funeral for New Theatre. Anna designed Tiger Country and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea for Little Spoon Theatre Company as well as This Fella, My Memory for Moogahlin Performing Arts, Rooted for Don’t Look Away and Orphans for Redline Productions at the Old Fitz. She recently designed the sold out Blood Brothers for Enda Markey Presents at the Hayes Theatre Company.
Anna is currently designing the upcoming productions; Sport for Jove’s The Merchant of Venice, The Unknown Soldier for Monkey Baa Theatre Company, Shellshock for the Riverside Theatre and Ladies in Lavender for Ensemble Theatre.
