Felicity Abbott is a graduate of the Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS) (MA (Hons) Film & Television in Production Design) and The University of Auckland Elam School of Fine Arts (BFA Sculpture).
She received the Fox Studios Award for Excellence in Design in 1999. Felicity’s enthralling designs evoke the memory of childhood in both series of ABC TV’s My Place, she created a vibrant 1960s Broome in the sparkling feature Bran Nue Dae (nominated 2010 IF Award for Best Production Design) and established the magical realism of Sydney past in Julien Temple’s Rose D’Or-winning film opera Eternity Man.
Felicity employed a disciplined colour palette to portray stark Van Diemen’s Land in Michael James Rowland’s The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce and has worked on Spirited for John Edwards, starring Claudia Karvan and ABC’s The Straits by Matchbox pictures. Felicity recently finished up on MABO, also for the ABC, produced by Blackfella Films. The telemovie has been selected to screen at Sydney Film Festival and will also air on the ABC in June. She is currently working on the new project from Blackfella Films for the ABC, Redfern Now.
