James is a production designer for theatre, film and television and  has designed many award winning short films including Splintered for director Peter Templeman (Best Short Film, Slamdance 2005), Luke Eve’s Australian Summer (Best Film, Tropfest 2005), Danya directed by Beth Armstrong (Best Film, Jackson Hole International Film Festival) and Philip R Smith’s Crooked Mick of the Speewah. In 2013, James both directed and designed the short Shift, for which he won an APDG award for Design on a Short Film. He graduated from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2005 with a Master of Arts in Production Design and was awarded both the Fox Studios Award for Design Excellence and the Gilbert & Tobin Award for Best Body of Work.
