Jo graduated from Penn State University with a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and also studied Costume Design for Film and Television at AFTRS. With a long list of credits in the independent theatre sector, Jo debuted for the Sydney Theatre Company as costume designer for the double bill Reunion and A Kind of Alaska, directed by Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett, and then designed for Andrew Upton’s production of Ruby Moon. She has designed sets and costumes for the Sydney Festival, Company B Belvoir, Jigsaw Theatre Company, the Australian Theatre for Young People and the Darlinghurst Theatre. Her latest theatre credits include Madagascar (Melbourne Theatre Company), Strange Attractor (Griffin Theatre & Riverside Productions), Lying Cheating Bastard (Soft Tread) and OzOpera’s La Traviata.
For the last few years Jo has been production and costume designing in Film and Television. She worked as production designer on the short film Hush for Film Depot and SBS TV and has designed several commercials and videos for The Hilltop Hoods, Delta Goodrem and Josh Pyke.
Jo was the Art Director on the third series of the ABC television series The Librarians. Over the last year Jo has been Production Designer on the ABC series Woodley and the Costume Designer on the new big budget ABC children’s series Conspiracy 365.
