Margot Wilson is one of Australia’s most acclaimed costume designers. She recently completed The Dressmaker (dir. Jocelyn Moorhouse) starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth and Hugo Weaving, and Triple Nine (dir. John Hillcoat) starring Kate Winslet, Gal Gadot , Aaron paul and Woody Harrelson. She also recently worked as costume designer on the HBO pilot Quarry (dir. John Hillcoat) starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Stellan Skarsgard and Lawless (wr. Nick Cave and dir. John Hillcoat) starring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain, that screened at Cannes in 2012.
Margot won an AFI for her meticulous and beautiful costume design for The Proposition (dir. John Hillcoat) starring Ray Winston and Guy Pearce and was also Hillcoat’s costume designer for his follow up feature, The Road starring Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. She designed costumes for Bran Nue Dae (dir. Rachel Perkins) for which she received an AFI nomination, Jindabyne (production and costumes) for Ray Lawrence and costumes for the period docu-drama Hunt Angels (Alec Morgan). Other credits include Japanese Story, Preservation, Ghost Ship, La Spagnola (AFI nomination), Lantana (AFI nomination), Risk and Terrence Malick’s Oscar nominated The Thin Red Line and Mabo for Blackfella Films/ABC, selected for the 2012 Sydney Film Festival.
