John is one of Australia’s most experienced and awarded editors. He has recently finished editing Tommy’s Honour, Wayne Blair’s Septembers of Shiraz and Now Add Honey directed by Wayne Hope. Working across the UK, US and Australia, he has won three AFI Awards, for Little Fish, The Navigator and the Australian classic Newsfront, which also received six further AFI Nominations. He also won an IF Award for Phillip Noyce’s Rabbit Proof Fence (shared with Veronika Jenet).
His extensive list of credits include Singularity, The Quiet American, Sexy Beast (co-editor), The Adventures of Barry McKenzie, Map of the Human Heart, The Coca-Cola Kid, Heatwave, Wrong Side of the Road, Being in Heaven and he edited the feature Return to Sender for Academy Award-winning-director Bille August (Pelle the Conqueror). Having edited Khyentse Norbu’s first feature film, the Tibetan heartwarmer The Cup, he collaborated again with Norbu on the beautiful Travellers and Magicians.
