Veronika Jenet came to Australia from Germany and it was here that she first began filming and editing on Super 8mm whilst travelling around the country.

Veronika is a highly regarded and awarded feature film editor having worked with many of Australia’s leading directors such as Jane Campion (with whom she has collaborated on five films) and Phillip Noyce for Rabbit Proof Fence (2001). She recently finished editing the highly anticipated Jasper Jones and worked on Simon Stone’s directorial debut, The Daughter (2015) starring Geoffrey Rush. She has also worked with Jan Sardi on Love’s Brother, Elissa Down on The Black Balloon, Rachel Ward’s Beautiful Kate, and Claire McCarthy’s The Waiting City. All of these films have been recognised with AFI, IF and FCCA Awards and nominations. She edited Warp Film Australia’s first feature Snowtown, directed by Justin Kurzel, and edited the Kim Farrant feature Strangerland starring Nicole Kidman.

Veronika was editor of The Piano (dir. Jane Campion), for which she received an Academy Award, BAFTA and ACE Award Nominations. She has been nominated for six AFI Awards, winning four times for The Piano, documentary Hepzibah, The Black Balloon and Snowtown. Veronika has also been nominated for four IF Awards, winning three for Rabbit Proof Fence, The Waiting City and Snowtown.

Veronika edited Lore, directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Porchlight Films based on Rachel Seiffert’s novella. The film screened in 2012 in Official Competition at Sydney Film Festival, Toronto and at London Film Festival. In 2013 she worked on Around the Block, produced by Brian Rosen and Su Armstrong, written and directed by Sarah Spillane.

She also has credits in high-end Australian television drama, editing miniseries Naked (dir. Neil Armfield) produced by Jan Chapman for the ABC and also for the ABC, the miniseries Bastard Boys (dir. Ray Quint), for which Veronika received an ASE Award for Best TV Drama.

Veronika is a member of the US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She is an inaugural recipient of the Australian Screen Editors ASE accreditation. She has also been both an advisor and participant in the Screen NSW Aurora script workshop.
