Abu Dhabi Days, Dubai Nights (memoir, Pan Macmillan 2012)
Jillian Schedneck received a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from West Virginia University in 2006, and then moved to the United Arab Emirates. She lived in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for two years, where she taught English and Literature at Abu Dhabi University and the American University in Dubai. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Gender Studies at the University of Adelaide in South Australia. Her research focuses on women’s issues in the Middle East, particularly young Emirati women’s responses to the modernisation of their country. Jillian’s essays have been published in The Common Review, Brevity and Fourth River, among others. Abu Dhabi Days, Dubai Nights is her first book.
