Julia is the recipient of the 2014 Philip Parsons’s Fellowship for her first full-length play Samson. The play generated buzz at the Playwriting Australia  National Script Workshop and the National Play Festival and made it’s mainstage debut in a Belvoir St/ La Boite co-production in 2015 starring Ashleigh Cummings. Julia is also under commission to write new works for HotHouse Theatre Company and a collaborative piece for the Brisbane Powerhouse.

Lally Katz is mentoring her as part of the Australia Council’s JUMP Mentorship Program and she’s currently completing her Masters in Fine Arts (Playwriting) at NIDA.

Julia has worked with Griffin, The Australian Theatre For Young People (atyp), La Boite, The Brisbane Powerhouse, The Rock Surfers Theatre Co. Hothouse Theatre Company and Grin & Tonic. In 2013 she participated in Playwriting Australia’s Dramaturgy Internship Program, Atyp’s National Mentoring Program as well as Griffin Theatre’s StoryLab.

Her monologue This Feral Life has been produced for the stage, as a short film and published through atyp’s The Voices Project.
